  3. Salma Valgarma Hayek Jiménez-Pinault, born September 2, 1966 in Coatzacoalcos, Veracruz, Mexico the daughter of an opera singer and talent scout, and an oil company executive. Star of telenovelas, tv and film, she is also a television director as well as a television and film producer. After working successfully in Mexican film and television, Salma’s Hollywood break came when director Robert Rodriquez cast her opposite Antonio Banderas in Desperado Columbia, 1995). Shakira early on revealed many of her talents in school as a live performer, demonstrating her vocal ability with rock and roll, Latin and Middle Eastern influences with her own original twist on belly dancing.
